Police Log: Train Station Brawl and Town Hall Paintballed
The following information was supplied by the Wilmington Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
The following is an excerpt from the Wilmington Police log from Friday, November 16 to Sunday, November 18.
Friday, November 16
12:47 a.m.: Four males were involved in a fight at the train station on Main Street. The groups left in a four-door silver vehicle towards Burlington and one male left on foot down Main Street. The involved party refused treatment and was released to a sober party.
5:43 a.m.: On Broad Street a caller reported that sometime overnight a vehicle drove into her mailbox and fence. A fence post and mailbox were damaged, and it's possible that the involved vehicle was a 2005 Pontiac due to debris left in the yard.
4:19 p.m.: Police received a call for a past breaking and entering on North Street.
Saturday, November 17
2:29 p.m.: Officers assisted an elderly female on Lowell Street. The woman was attempting to locate her husband who has early onset dementia and got out of the vehicle. The husband did not want to get back in the vehicle and wanted to instead go for a walk.
Sunday, November 18
12:41 a.m.: State Police reported a possibly intoxicated female operating a vehicle pulled over near the I-93 North ramp. The car was gone on arrival.
10:13 a.m.: Town Hall was struck with paintballs sometime overnight on the front doors and windows. Public Buildings was notified.
1:45 p.m.: From Cornell Place, a caller reported a possible water main break at the intersection of Cornell Place and Fordham Road. Scott Barry from the Water Department states it is a water main break. A crew will be responding and water will be shut off in about a half hour.
