Police Log: Third Time OUI and a Crash That Wasn't

The following is an excerpt from the Wilmington Police log from Monday, June 18 to Tuesday, June 19.
Monday, June 18
6:41 a.m.: State Police reported a multi-vehicle crash with one potential injury. The Fire Department responded to the scene along with State Police and one victim was transported to the hospital.
8:21 a.m.: A walk-in party reported the horses at a home on Chestnut Street were loose and in his yard. The man said this is an ongoing issue and he was concerned that it will lead to a physical confrontation. Police made contact with the horse's owner, who retrieved the animals.
12:32 p.m.: On Shawsheen Ave., a caller reported that a man in a small blue pick up truck got out of the vehicle, urinated in the woods and left traveling toward Reed Street about 10 minutes prior to the call.
1:10 p.m.: Medical aid was requested to Woodland Road for an intoxicated man who requested to go to detox. He was transported to Winchester Hospital.
3:46 p.m.: While driving on Route 38, a caller said another vehicle struck the mirror on his car, began yelling at the driver and spit on his window. The caller spoke with an officer, and asked that the incident be logged.
5:57 p.m.: A Woburn Street resident reported a restraining order violation. A Burlington man was summonsed for violating an abuse prevention order and assault with a dangerous weapon.
6:30 p.m.: Woburn Police reported a moped driving erratically and texting on Main Street heading into Wilmington. The driver of the moped told Wilmington Police he was checking his GPS, and was sent on his way.
9:41 p.m.: Billerica Police received a report of a domestic incident in the parking lot of CVS. Police determined that the assault occurred in Billerica, and Billerica Police arrested a man in connection with the incident.
10:45 p.m.: Officers arrest Charles J. Barber, 42, of 74 Oak Terrace in Dracut, for operating under the influence of liquor, third offense, and speeding following a traffic stop on Middlesex Ave.
Tuesday, June 19
8:28 a.m.: A motor vehicle fire on Ballardvale Ave. was reported. The Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire before a tow company removed the vehicle.
10:35 a.m.: During construction on Grove Ave., a detail officer reported that the work crew hit the gas line. The Fire Department responded and National Grid shut off the gas.
11:25 a.m.: The staff at Woodbriar Nursing Home reported that a resident's family alleges the theft of gold rings. The manager told police that the resident's family contacted a facility to have them return the rings, and they already filed a report on the alleged theft.
12:29 p.m.: An Agostino Drive caller reported that a neighbor notified her that her son was dropped off at the house, and the man who dropped the son off has an active restraining order against him. Police searched the area and were unable to locate the suspect, but they found a small amount of marijuana in the yard and destroyed it. The man was summonsed for violating an abuse prevention order.
12:02 p.m.: A Forest Street resident reported that his mother went missing about an hour ago. The woman, an Alzheimer's patient, was located several hours later at the Ditson School in Billerica.
5:36 p.m.: A female shoplifter at Walgreens was being uncooperative. The woman was in the store with her aunt, whom employees at the store were very familiar with. They did not wish to act further at the time, bu said they would call back after speaking with the manager.
9:38 p.m.: A walk-in party told police that she found jewelry was missing from her Salem Street home.
11:33 p.m.: State Police reported a one-car rollover crash on the ramp of I-93. Local and State Police responded to the area, but it appeared the crash was unfounded and they called off the search for the crash.
