Police Log: Obscene Gestures, Stolen Phone and a Loose Pug

The following is an excerpt from the Wilmington Police log. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Wilmington Police log from Monday, August 6 to Tuesday, August 7.

Monday, August 6

2:59 a.m.: A broken window was reported at the laundromat on Lowell Street. An employee was on scene doing a walk-through. Police said it appeared to just be vandalism at the time due to several rocks out in front of the property.

10:49 a.m.: Walking into the station, a party reported that a male in a black vehicle approached him in the Bank of America parking lot and asked him to cash a check. The man was gone on arrival.

11:55 a.m.: On Kenwood Ave., a resident reports that his debit card was used against his knowledge while he was on vacation.

2:39 p.m.: A walk-in party reported that yesterday his iPhone was stolen while at Brothers Pizza.

8:59 p.m.: A Pond Street resident reported that a suspicious male was walking along Town Beach and staring at their house. When confronted, the man left walking towards the park. No one was on the beach upon police arrival. There was one vehicle in the lot that was leaving when police pulled in, a party who was removing his canoe from the water.

Tuesday, August 7

2:16 a.m.: Police checked St. Dorothy's Church for a missing juvenile, but he was not located.

11:45 a.m.: At Burger King, a caller reported a male party in the area who was making obscene and inappropriate gestures.

3:06 p.m.: A Belmont Ave. resident reported that at about 12:45 a.m. this morning his house was egged. This is something that has happened several times.

5:47 p.m.: On State Street, a caller reported his 13-year-old pug went missing and probably left his yard this morning. The animal likely does not have a collar on.
