Police Log: Multi-Vehicle Crash and a Found Firearm

The following is an excerpt from the Wilmington Police log from Monday, January 7, to Tuesday, January 8.
Monday, January 7
8:54 a.m.: A vehicle went through a bus stop while the bus had its flashers on and also crossed the yellow line. Police will follow up.
9:28 a.m.: Police received a report of a deceased coyote in the area of Andover Street. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the animal.
9:36 a.m.: A bag of syringes was found on Federal Street by a Reading Municipal Light crew.
9:14 p.m.: Crash was reported on I-93 South with a vehicle on its roof on the median. The Fire Department was en route to the scene and State Police notified. Several vehicles were involved in separate areas.
Tuesday, January 8
6:36 a.m.: North Reading Police requested assistance of a K-9 Unit for a suspect on the tracks. All clear as North Reading Police had the suspect in custody.
9:40 a.m.: An ex-employee on Industrial Way made threats to current employees the previous night.
11:06 a.m.: Inside Market Basket, a customer was fighting with the manager. Police returned with Andrew J. Girard, 17, of 10A Dadant Drive, Wilmington, with shoplifting greater than $100 by asportation.
11:57 a.m.: On State Street, a resident found a firearm while cleaning his house. An office returned to the station with an older handgun and one box of ammunition.
2:43 p.m.: A walk-in party reported a possible past breaking and entering to her Birchwood Street home and multiple threats made to her.
8:32 p.m.: An Avalon Drive caller was bitten by another resident's dog, but declined medical treatment. Police called Avalon Oaks to receive a list of dogs registered at the facility. She will be checking her records and calling the station with any information and the Animal Control Officer will follow up.
