Police Log: Fists Flying and a House Fire
The following information was supplied by the Wilmington Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
The following is an excerpt from the Wilmington Police log from Wednesday, December 5 to Thursday, December 6.
Wednesday, December 5
12:15 a.m.: A caller at the Shell station reported that six or seven youths appeared to be fighting in the parking lot. The victims fled the scene. One party from the vehicle will be headed to the hospital to have his hand checked out.
9:08 a.m.: Weapons and ammunition were brought to the station for destruction.
11:22 a.m.: In the area of Church Street trying to remove a turkey from the road. The animal has gone behind the Methodist Church for now.
2:51 p.m.: A suspicious party was reported in the area of Miller Landscaping on Main Street. The caller reported that people were taking scrap metal from the property. He does not know who they are, but does not have an issue with it.
5:05 p.m. Loss prevention at TJ Maxx reported they have a party detained for shoplifting. A Tewksbury woman was summonsed for shoplifting greater than $100 by concealing.
Thursday, December 6
8:37 a.m.: On Christine Drive, a caller reported that two loose dogs are always on her property and she believes they're from King Street Ext. The Animal Control Officer retrieved one of the dogs and brought it to Andover Animal Hospital.
10:02 a.m.: The Animal Control Officer went to Muse Ave. with a member of the Board of Health. Chickens at the home had no food or water and the Board of Health attempted to place them with the MSPCA.
11:18 a.m.: Callers report a house fire on North Street. Firefighters worked into the night controling the fire and eventually knocking down the home. There is no indication yet what started the fire.
7:04 p.m.: Three parties were reported fighting in the parking lot of Wilmington Family Counseling on Middlesex Ave. Officers spoke to two of the people and a third drove away. No one was willing to give information.
