Police Log: Another Homebreak and Tequila at Town Hall
The following information was supplied by the Wilmington Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
The following is an excerpt from the Wilmington Police log from Monday August 20 to Wednesday, August 22.
Monday, August 20
2:06 a.m.: An officer reported that a vehicle was pumping gas at the closed Hess gas station. The party filled up and was sent on their way. The pump authorized the sale.
8:59 a.m.: On West Street, a motorcycle driver fell off of their bike. Police assisted in clearing the scene.
10:12 a.m.: A King Street resident came to the station to report that about two weeks ago her car was gone through, but nothing was taken.
11:28 a.m.: At a job site on Nichols Street, a caller reported a party attempting to still from the area. Casey Heffernan, 43, of 45 Oak Street in North Billerica, was arrested and charged with larceny over $250.
12:41 p.m.: On Pleasant Road at Route 62, a motorcycle crash was reported and police were requested to the scene for a hit and run. The vehicle was described as a green Toyota heading east on Rt. 62 at Middlesex and High Street. There was little damage, and the motorcycle was able to drive away from the scene.
4:37 p.m.: Police received a report that sometime over the weekend a rum bottle and a tequila bottle were smashed in the Town Hall parking lot and clothes were thrown on the roof. Extra patrols were requested for the area.
9:53 p.m.: Tewksbury officers were searching the area of Main Street for several individuals who were walking through backyards in their town. A juvenile was picked up by his grandmother.
Tuesday, August 21
3:31 a.m.: Officers assisted the Fire Department with a chemical spill at Koch Membrane Systems on Main Street.
1:51 p.m.: At EGS Gauging Thermo Fisher on Research Drive, a caller reported that there was a vehicle without plates that appeared to have been broken into. It did not appear that anything was missing from inside the car, nor was there anything to indicate ownership or why it was parked at the location. The right rear tire was flat, but it's unknown when the damage occurred.
3:07 p.m.: Multiple hypodermic needles were discovered in the trees and grass behind Cumberland Farms.
10:45 p.m.: A Shady Lane caller reported that sometime in the last 24 hours it appears that someone broke in through her window and stole her laptop.
Wednesday, August 22
12:06 a.m.: On Muse Ave., a caller reported that their doorbell was just rung twice and there is an unknown object at the end of the driveway that was not there earlier. The item is a "Slow Children Playing" sign that belongs to the homeowner.
12:25 a.m.: A Molloy Road caller reported that two youths were walking up her driveway and when they saw her they ran away. A liter Coke bottle was left on the trunk of a car in the driveway and its contents were dumped out.
