Police Log: A Bomb Threat and Off Road Driving

The following information was supplied by the Wilmington Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 
The following is an excerpt from the Wilmington Police log from Wednesday, September 12 to Thursday, September 13.

Wednesday, September 12

3:10 p.m.: The Water Department has a woman in the parking lot who found a small Shiatsu type of dog in the road. The Animal Control Officer brought the animal to the pound.

4:36 p.m.: On Canal Street, a caller found a small terrier with a blue collar and no tags. She will hold onto the dog overnight.

8:26 p.m.: Parties on Industrial Way were reported to be going through the dumpsters on the property. Officers advised the parties and they were sent on their way.

11:35 p.m.: Police assisted the Fire Department with a fire alarm at Knights of Columbus. There is a little odor of something burning. One employee reported that it is possible someone drove away quickly and the burning rubber from the tires went into the building and caused the activation.

Thursday, September 13

12:48 a.m.: Tewksbury Police took a report of a missing juvenile who was last seen at a plaza around 8:30 p.m. The juvenile is listed in police records associating with another juvenile in Wilmington. There was no sign of the missing juvenile at that property.

2:07 a.m.: Officers reported a one-car motor vehicle crash on Main Street near Lockhart Machine. The vehicle attempted to drive over the foot bridge to Old Shawsheen. A concrete block on the Old Shawsheen side of the bridge was damaged and the Department of Public Works was notified. A Billerica woman was taken into protective custody and given a citation for marked lanes violation.

6:39 a.m.: An Everett Ave. caller reported that about two minutes prior a person in a small black vehicle hit her fence and mailbox. She said a group of juveniles waiting for the bus witnessed the accident and it appears the operator did it on purpose before leaving the area.

11:38 a.m.: On Quail Run a sign board was vandalized. Tires were slashed, wires were cut and a license plate was taken.

3:11 p.m.: A stationary exercise bike was taken from Houghton Road sometime since 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

11:34 p.m.: On Chestnut Street a resident reported that a neighbor is playing a recording of coyotes howling.

11:29 p.m.: A cleaner at Koch Membrane Systems called to report a bomb threat that was written on a bathroom wall. A picture was taken and the wall was cleaned prior to calling. The Fire Department responded to the business.
