Opening Day, Tween Night Among Weekend Activities

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit and new bars/restaurants/shops to explore.

1. TWEEN NIGHT

Where/When: Paint-n-Play, Friday at 6 p.m.

Why Go: No need for a babysitter on Friday. Reserve your child's spot at this event where they'll be able to paint the piece of their choice while also socializing with other children on their April vacation.

Pricing: $20 per child.

2. BUSY FRIDAY OF SPORTS

Where/When: Wilmington High School, Friday at 10 a.m.

Why Go: Wildcat teams wrap up their vacations chedule with a variety of games. At 10 a.m. the baseball team hosts Stoneham, the softball team welcomes the same opponent to town and the girls tennis team plays at home against Lexington. The boys tennis team travels to Lexington at 10 a.m. and the boys lacrosse team hits the road against North Reading at 11 a.m.

3. LITTLE LEAGUE OPENING DAY

Where/When: Rotary Park, Saturday at 9:30 a.m.

Why Go: Saturday is the day local baseball players have been waiting for. Players will step off from Town Common at 9:30 a.m. and march in the Opening Day Parade to Rotary Park. Then after a ceremony on the field that will include the state championship Wilmington High School hockey team, it's time to play ball.

Pricing: Free.

4. START BLOGGING FOR WILMINGTON PATCH

Where/When: Your house, all day, every day.

Why Go: If you have opinions on what's happening in town, there's no better way to express them than through Wilmington Patch. 5. READ PATCH

Where/When: Your house, all day, every day.

Why Go: Even on weekends, we've got you covered. This weekend we'll have a variety of weekly features along with stories like coverage from Friday's baseball game against Stoneham.
