Manager Search, Turf Appeal on Monday Agenda

Board of Selectmen meet at 7 p.m. with two appointments and several other items.

A pair of appointments and a host of communications will come before the Board of Selectmen during Monday's meeting, which is set for 7 p.m. in Town Hall, Room 9.

The first appointment of the meeting will be with Joseph Martiniello, the Event Chair for Wilmington's Relay for Life.

Then at 7:15 p.m., Board of Selectmen chairman Lou Cimaglia will present the board's annual report for calendar year 2011.

Following those appointments, a long list of communications are on the agenda, including several noteworthy topics.

Members will read a letter from Assistant Town Manager Jeffrey Hull regarding the Town Manager position. During the board's last meeting, Hull emerged as the top candidate to replace retirning Town Manager Michael Caira.

The next item is a memorandum from Caira and Superintendent of Schools Joanne Benton regarding the permitting of the Wilmington High School project.

There is also a letter from School Committee member Mario Marchese, who addresses "various issues of concern" to board members. Marchese is among the candidates running for School Committee in this year's election.

Before closing out with Public Comments, selectmen will consider the request of Patricia Romano to use Town Common on June 4 for an event hosted by Wilmington Band Parents and Friends.

Check back with Wilmington Patch on Tuesday for complete coverage of the meeting.

Only a World Class Knucklehead would shout at and badger a Selectman who is in the middle of acknowledging Autism Awareness Month. Kevin MacDonald you have sunk to a nadir of lunacy and bad taste.

I think Mr. Champoux should ask more questions or find our more information about issues before he provides useless comments about issues that he really knows nothing about.
