Wilmington Little League will kick off the 2012 season with a Parade of Players and Opening Day Ceremonies at Rotary Park in Wilmington.

This Wilmington tradition continues on Saturday April 21, when the Little League Parade steps off from the Town Common area at 9:30 am.

The on-field ceremonies will take place at Rotary Park and will include introductions of Local Officials, the Division 2 state championship Wilmington High School boys hockey team and ceremonial first pitch by Wilmington Veterans.

Wilmington’s own Lauren Azevedo will sing the national anthem. The Lowell Spinners mascot Canaligator will also be on hand.

Following the ceremonies, the season will get under way when the Athletics take on the Yankees in Little League Major Division action.

Wilmington Little League and Boy Scout Troop 56 will be collecting items for the food pantry from 9:00-9:30 a.m. next to the 4th of July Building.
