Is Greg's Roast Beef Closed For Good?

With Big Joe's shut down, a few readers wanted to know if Wilmington was losing another popular eatery.

Question: I just found out that Big Joe's closed down and now it looks like Greg's Roast Beef is closed too. I thought the economy was supposed to be getting better.

Answer: Fear not, fan of roast beef. Greg's isn't going anywhere. Well, they are, but they aren't leaving Wilmington.

Greg's is actually in the middle of a move from their old location at 296 Shawsheen over to 101 Main St. (Route 38), right across from Silver Lake Dental.

The ownership of Greg's has not yet set an opening date for the new location. But we'll let you know as soon as they do.

The animal hospital is on Route 62. Silver Lake Dental is across the street from the new location.

Silver Lake Animal Hospital closed a while ago. I noticed the other day, though, that there was a new name on the building but it didn't look open yet.

I don't understand this move. The old location was well maintained and had clearer parking spots. Hopefully they get the opportunity to turn this property into a gem. Slightly closer to the beach might be good for them, too.

I was told they moved from the old location to this dump because the rent went sky high. This location makes me lose my appetite.

It seems to be the old Tattersall's building. Nothing that has been in there since Tattersalls has has survived for very long. Godd Luck to Greg's

Greg's will do good there!! It's time more businesses open up in buildings that already exist.

You are correct, Shoe. I believe they're open for business now. Here's our story on that business from when they were approved by the Board of Selectmen.

They will be fine in the new location, and yes rent went sky high....same thing happened to Kendra & Anthony's. Matt, any update on whether they found a new location in another town?

Gregs runs a very clean & organized business, their food is consistantly good and customer service is superb. I wish Andrew & staff good luck.

No business has lasted in the spot where Gregs is going. Hopefully this is different.
