Wilmington wrestled Reading close, but fell 40-30, on Wednesday.

The Wilmington wrestling team is growing up, and the results are starting to show it.

While the Wildcats have been building the program up for the last few seasons, head coach Michael Pimental's charges have compiled an 11-13 record this year with improved performances across the board.

On Wednesday the team fell, 40-30, in Reading despite victories by Ryan Adams, Colin Hoffman, Anthony Vitale, Tom Gorman, Cody Halliday and Gavin Carta.

"We’re still young, but this year our freshmen have transformed into tougher sophomores," said head coach Michael Pimental. "We’re progressing and as time goes on we’re getting better and better. We’ve been closing the gap, and we continue to do so."
