Gas Prices Remain Steady in Last Week

Winter prices have risen since the year started, but this week's cheapest price is the same as our last post.

Gas prices were sky high throughout the summer, and in the Wilmington area, prices climbed to more than $3.75 per gallon. Ouch. Normally, when winter rolls in the prices drop down. But that hasn't necessarily been the case this year.

Wilmington Patch is all about keeping you informed, and we'd love to help you save an extra dollar or two when possible. With that in mind, we've compiled a list of the cheapest gas in Wilmington and surrounding towns so while prices are high, you know where to go.

We created the list using the MapQuest cheap gas tool, which was built by our parent company, AOL. You can try it yourself as well. In addition, Patch has an area on the site now where you can keep up to date on traffic and gas prices.

The bad news is that the lowest updated price listed is $3.44 per gallon, which isn't exactly cheap. Even worse is that this week's lowest price represents a significant increase since 2012 began when prices were $3.15. The good news is that prices remained steady since our last post.
