When Tracy Botelho and Mary Buscone opened Fro-Yo To Go three weeks ago they knew that they wanted it to become a part of the local community. As longtime Wilmington residents and volunteers in the community they knew that they wanted to open an establishment that both welcomed and supported people throughout the town.

From the beginning both Buscone and Botelho committed themselves to providing a safe, healthy environment that would, “give business back to Wilmington.” With a staff filled with employees from both Wilmington and Shawsheen Valley technical High, Fro-Yo is the place to be here in town.

Buscone, who left a corporate career to run Fro-Yo, also spends her time as a cross country coach in Arlington as well as an indoor track coach in Wilmington.  In the past she has also spent years volunteering for local youth hockey programs. Botelho has also spent her time with local students as part of the Sons of Italy Juniors Program as well as St. Dorothy’s Church.

These days, however, both Buscone and Bothelho spend their time helping find ways for their new business, Fro-Yo to Go to give back to the local community.

First and foremost on the list has been finding ways to support the local athletes. Last weekend Fro-Yo revealed a Saturday discount for all Wilmington soccer players who wear their shirts to the store and this weekend they are adding a Sunday discount to Pop Warner participants to the list.

“We really wanted to figure out what we could do for local kids,” explained Botelho. “And this was it.”
