Bob Almeida's win on Friday wasn't just special because it came against his former team. It also helped him earn recognition from the New England Patriots.
Almeida, the Stoneham High School football coach, received the Patriots Head Coach of the Week award Tuesday morning from NFL Hall of Fame Inductee and former New England Patriots linebacker Andre Tippett.
Almeida, who previously coached the football program at Wilmington High School, was given his award during a brief presentation at the Stoneham High gymnasium. Additionally, the Stoneham High football program will receive $1,000.
The Stoneham coach is receiving the award after leading the Spartans to their seventh consecutive victory Friday against his former team, Wilmington. Last season the Spartans finished with a 2-9 overall record.

I thought Coach Almeida was a teacher at the Wilmington Middle School. Was school canceled in Wilmington on Tuesday?
