Five Things You Need to Know Today, November 27
Some snow is possible on Tuesday in Wilmington.
"Five Things you Need to Know Today" is a Patch column that provides readers with essential, daily information at a glance.
1. You could see a little bit of the powdery stuff on Tuesday, though not much. According to Weather.com, temperatures will only hit 39° as the week moves on in Wilmington. There is a 60 percent chance of precipitation on the day as snow showers are possible throughout Tuesday.
2. Have a great holiday light display in Wilmington? You could win $100,000 for Wilmington Public Schools. Enter your house in our Deck the House Contest and your home could be a national winner, or you could have your electric bill paid this holiday season. Do Wilmington proud!
3. Have a news tip you want us to know about? We try our best, but don't know about everything happening in town. So if there's something you want to see on the site, e-mail Local Editor Matt Schooley.
4. Can you tweet? Then you can help. Patch is going to donate $1 to Hurricane Sandy victims for every tweet sent using the hashtag #PatchRebuilds, up to $125,000. So be sure to get on Twitter and do your part to help, and at no cost to you.
5. Are you a fan of Wilmington Patch on social media? Our total continues to rise and we're now up to 1,878 Facebook fans. All you have to do to join that following is log onto our Facebook page and click "Like." We've also got 1,255 Twitter followers supporting us, so be sure to follow us there as well. Thanks for the support, Wilmington!

This column does not live up to its name. #3 - #5 are always requests for information. Certainly there must be 5 things happenning in Wilmington for real.

I will do my best to mix things up a bit more, Susan. I do my best to fill this space with five events or other pieces of information, but on a day like today there are no sporting events, no library events and no town meetings happening. So as mentioned in No. 3, if you have a news tip e-mail me, or if you have an event happening be sure to upload it into the events section of the site. I'll do my best to improve Five Things in the future.
