E-mail your nomination to matthew.schooley@patch.com.

Each week, Wilmington Patch will select a Whiz Kid of the Week. This week we spotlight Josselyn Siegel, who we covered earlier in the week as she made the trip to meet David Ortiz at Animal Rescue League Boston.

  • Josselyn Siegel
  • Siegel created ceramic dolls and sold them at this summer's Farmers Market, raising a total of $100. She in turn donated that money to ARL.
  • As a reward for her generosity, Siegel was invited to Boston to the shelter where Red Sox slugger David Ortiz was in attendance to play with dogs as a part of a contest that ARL won. Siegel met Ortiz, took photos with him, and even had her autograph the cast on her foot. This is the second time Siegel has been our Whiz Kid selection. Earlier in the year she was selected after making a trip to New Hampshire to meet the CEO of a doll company.
