Construction Worker Falls From Rooftop [PHOTOS, VIDEO]
Airlifted to a Boston from a Fordham Road building site.
A construction worker was airlifted from a construction site Saturday afternoon but is expected to survive after falling from the building’s roof.
Wilmington Fire Department Lt. Gary Robichaud confirmed that the man fell about 30 feet to the ground and suffered extremity injuries, mostly on his left side. Robichaud said it is unclear what caused the fall.
A construction worker at the scene told Patch that the man never lost consciousness following the fall from the roof.
The man was transported by ambulance to a gravel clearing about one-quarter mile away and where he was moved into the waiting helicopter that flew him into Boston for treatment.
Though the address for the property is 1 Cornell Place, the driveway to the property is on Fordham Road, just past Shriners Auditorium.
There was a trailer and signs around the construction site for Pinnacle Construction Company, Inc., which is based out of Tewksbury.
