Chairmen Join Growing List of Election Candidates
Both Mike Newhouse and Peggy Kane pulled papers on Wednesday, the first day to pull papers for this spring's election.
Lou Cimaglia and Robert Hayes confirmed on Wednesday that they will be running for re-election to their respective boards. But they won't be the only ones.
According to the Town Clerk's office, Board of Selectmen chairman Mike Newhouse pulled papers on Wednesday, the first day that candidates were eligible to declare their intentions for Election Day.
Daniel Murphy, who pulled papers last year as well but didn't end up factoring into the election, also pulled papers for the Board of Selectmen race on Wednesday. He joins incumbents Cimaglia and Newhouse in the race for two open seats.
In addition, School Committee chairman Peggy Kane pulled papers for re-election, according to the Clerk's office. Kane and Hayes both will be hoping to regain their seat on the board.
There is still plenty of time for new candidates to emerge. Resident can pull papers up until March 8 in advance of Election Day, which is slated for Saturday, April 27.
