3rd Annual 5K Run for Wilmington and Kim Forte Walk This Sunday

Women of Wilmington raises thousands of dollars each year to help local non-profits.

Runners and walkers of all ages and athletic abilities will gather on the Town Common on Sunday, April 28,  for the Women of Wilmington's 3rd Annual 5K Run for Wilmington and Kim Forte Walk.

The event will benefit multiple Wilmington non-profit organizations and is named in honor of Kim Forte, who was struck by a car and killed in February, 2011.

There have been more than 600 participants in each of the first two years of the race, according to an article appearing in the Town Crier.

Race-day registration is $30 for adults (16-over) and $20 for children. For the first time, $5 of that registration fee will be donated to the Wilmington non-profit organization of the participant's choice. Funds raised by the race will also go toward scholarships for graduating seniors, the Adopt-A Family-Program and area food pantries, according to the Town Crier article.
