Austin Preparatory School’s winter athletic teams have selected their leaders, and these leaders will now form the school’s new Winter Leadership Council.

The Winter Leadership Council, (formerly known as the Captains Council), is the first step into the Reading school’s evolution of a shared-leadership model. The model (known as the Student Leadership Council model) is a new method of developing leaders among students, teaching them how to work together toward a common goal using their different skills.

Although the majority of teams still use the traditional title of captain, many have now also elected assistant captains, a step toward shared leadership.

The following student from Wilmington has been elected by her teammates to the Winter Leadership Council:
